Welcome
KATHMANDU: Expressing its commitment to hold the forthcoming Constituent Assembly election freely and fairly, the interim government on Friday urged all the political forces in the country to take part in it.

A meeting of the Cabinet held at the Office of the Prime Minister, Singhadurbar expressed concern over the differences of some political forces over the November 19 election, and said the Nepal government is continuously working out to bring all the parties on board the election process.

In an appeal made following the meeting, the government said, "Election is a must to strengthen the democracy and the country can witness the political outlet through election only. That is why, the government expects participation of more and more parties in the Constituent Assembly election."

Without categorically mentioning the CPN-Maoist and it allies, the government said it is concerned over the dissenting parties' take over the election process.

"Since only through the election the problems could be resolved and the way to draft the new constitution as desired by the Nepali people could be paved, the Nepal government heartily urges all the political parties to take the opportunity to participate in the forthcoming Constituent Assembly election."

Earlier, multiple rounds of talks between and betwixt the dissident alliance and the interim government and High Level Political Committee, which guides the interim government, had failed after the latter turned down the demand of resignation of Chairman of the interim government, Khil Raj Regmi, as Chief Justice.
